There is a cabal plotting to control the world. But it's not who you might think.
In 1954, it really seemed like that secret, Illuminati-level group was the Bilderberg Conference. The name comes from the hotel where they first met, Hotel de Bilderberg in the Netherlands. The exclusive invite list included everyone who controlled anything in Government, Business, and the Military. At least, to outsiders paranoid about such meetings, it seemed like everyone.
Attendees to that first gathering included Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, Paul Rykens, founder of Unilever, Walter Bedell Smith, director of the CIA, Dean Rusk, future Secretary of State and current president of the Rockefeller Foundation, Antoine Pinay, former Prime Minister of France, Denis Healey, British politician, and David Rockefeller. Among other powerful names.
It was exactly the kind of cross-sector, elite group one would imagine gathering to secretly rule the world. It didn't help that the meeting was, in fact, completely secret. People were convinced unaccountable global decisions were being made.
But the group did make their ultimate goal public, or at least gave a publicly stated purpose, whether anyone believed it or not. They were gathering to foster U.S.-European cooperation in the face of a global Cold War.
It's a bit surprising that 71 years later, the Bilderberg Conference still meets. And still maintains complete secrecy. The guest list remains fuel for ample conspiracy theories, still covering all the powerful names in government, military, business, and tech.
The latest was in Sweden this June, at the fancy Grand Hotel. Guests this time included the Swedish Prime Minister, heads of NATO and MI6, senior American military officers, CEOs of major defense contractors, and tech billionaires like Peter Thiel and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
71 years after the first meeting, the overall goal was similar: strengthen Western leadership against growing enemies. But this time, it was a new coalition of China, North Korea, Iran, and Russia that was the concern. And if you think the Bilderbergs are all-powerful, they would tell you different. Because they weren't at all sure how they were going to stop this advancing enemy.
After seven decades nurturing a new world order lead by Western and European minds, the whole thing is in danger of being destroyed by a rising China in danger of reaching super-intelligence AI well before the Bilderberg nations can.
According to Schmidt, a Bilderberg board member, "China is at parity or pulling ahead of the United States in a variety of technologies, notably at the AI frontier". He suspects we are "three to five years" before China achieves some form of super-intelligent AI.
How worried should we be? Does this just mean China's version of Chat GPT will be most popular in the App Store?
Apparently, the stakes are much higher. Says Schmidt, "attaining super-intelligent AI would mean total and unassailable military domination." In short, it would give the winner "the keys to control the entire world."
How could this be true? Well, AI that achieves that magic "super intelligence" would no longer be a smart tool like current LLM models. Instead it would be an independent, unmatchable strategic brain that learns and grows faster than humans. Whoever achieves it would control global information and weaponry. If that country was authoritarian, the results could easily be a kind of irreversible, global subjugation.
Super-intelligent AI could develop, control, and deploy swarms of autonomous drones, missiles, and submarines capable of decision-making at machine speed, outmatching human-operated systems.
This new super-brain could penetrate global cyber defenses, disable satellite networks, disrupt financial systems, and neutralize military command structures. We could be paralyzed before a single shot was fired.
And of course, Super-Intelligent AI with advanced data-mining capabilities could track every military asset, conversation, and financial transaction globally. China would have a real-time view of the battlefield and everything around it.
Ultimately, such an advanced AI could potentially develop new technologies we haven't thought of yet, as it would design and iterate ideas faster than any human research group.
The Bilderberg Conference was rightly focused on this ominous threat from the group of dictatorships that actually do intend to control the world.
The problem is, beating China to the punch requires 100 times more energy than we currently have available. Super Intelligent AI is very demanding on power grids. And where we can create data centers, we are also creating easy targets for China's drones to destroy.
Makes sense that at this year's Bilderberg meetings you could find every major drone manufacturer, sharing their latest innovations.
Times are getting desperate as AI evolves faster than expected.
All this time we've been fearing a global cabal making secret decisions, we may soon be glad they're there, trying to coordinate U.S. and European goals.
The alternative cabal is ready to fill the gap.
